We were thrilled to bring back our Japan Insight Days earlier this month in our Tokyo office. During the week-long event, we hosted 11 undergrad and graduate students to experience what it’s like to be a buy-side investment professional. They heard from Point72 career development and investment professionals about our Japan business and Point72 Academy, and took part in interactive workshops and projects to hone their investing skills.
The participants had a diverse range of experience and backgrounds, hailing from seven different universities, including a doctorate candidate in solar engineering; a sumo enthusiast; and the president of the Stock Investment Club at The University of Tokyo.
Toby Bartlett, Head of Japan, Sonia Yu, Head of Investment Professional Development and Point72 LaunchPoint for Asia Pacific, and Adam Brooks, Academy Development Manager, were the primary mentors, teaching and working with the group on their projects. We also had analysts and portfolio managers across our investment teams teach sessions throughout the week.
Thanks to all of this year’s participants and we look forward to welcoming a new class in 2024.
