Cubist Systematic Strategies recently hosted its third annual Hackathon at our Hudson Yards office, bringing together 48 students from 17 universities.
This year’s event focused on data visualization, challenging participants to develop innovative solutions using the MTA’s congestion pricing data. After an initial networking session where students formed teams, participants dove into a 20-hour coding marathon where they leveraged their technical skills to build models and develop practical applications that addressed real-world problems,
Throughout the event, Cubist quant developers provided guidance and support, giving participants a glimpse into how quantitative research and technology intersect in a professional investment environment.
Participants presented to a panel of Cubist judges who evaluated the projects based on technical sophistication and creativity.
We’d like to congratulate our top three teams and thank all the participants who continue to make this event a success.
