Point72 Academy’s Tokyo Insight Week: Preparing the Next Generation of Hedge Fund Investors

This month, we hosted our Insight Week in Tokyo, bringing together 17 students from seven universities to get a real look at what it takes to build a career as an investor at Point72.

Japan has been a core market for us since we established an office in 2011, and investing in local talent is central to how we operate here. Insight Week puts students directly in front of the senior leaders and fundamental equities analysts who make up our Tokyo team.

Students had a full week, working through accounting fundamentals, valuation techniques, and a hands-on research project. Ahead of their final presentations, they received feedback directly from our analyst coaches, former investors who have managed capital and navigated real market cycles.

Insight Week is an important pipeline that we’ve been committed to building for nine years. A number of analysts can trace their Point72 journeys back to a week like this one.
