Joy Yang

Joy Yang is the Head of Asian Economic and Strategy Research at Point72 based in Singapore. In her role, she leads the firm’s macroeconomic and market research in the region with a focus on China, Japan, and Korea.

Prior to joining Point72 in 2017, Joy was the Chief Asia Economist at Brevan Howard and the Chief Economist for Greater China at Mirae Asset Securities in Hong Kong. Prior to that, she was an economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington.

Joy was named one of the “50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds” by The Hedge Fund Journal in 2020. She earned her PhD in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and her bachelor’s degree in economics and finance from the University of Hong Kong.
