Niklas Schmitz

Niklas Schmitz is an Economics Analyst in the Economist Team at Point72 based in London. In his role, he develops the team’s modelling and data infrastructure across the Euro area, UK, and U.S. economies, and supports the coverage of the European economies. 

Prior to joining Point72, Niklas held internships at the European Central Bank, as well as at the Deutsche Bundesbank and Allianz. 

Niklas holds a PhD in economics from the University of Cambridge, where his research focused on empirical studies of the business cycle and macroeconomic risk, along with an MPhil in economics from the University of Cambridge and a BSc in economics from the University of Münster.
