Students and Early-Career

The Point72 Academy

The firm invests heavily in talent development. The Point72 Academy, founded in 2015, is an investment analyst training program that introduces students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals to the buy-side and prepares them for a potential career as a Fundamental Equities Analyst at Point72. Professionals learn about the fundamentals of finance, research, and market behavior, while gaining valuable insights into specific sectors to cultivate their skills as investors.

At Point72, we welcome applicants from all universities. Understanding the demands of your penultimate and graduating years, we offer a short-term internship (Point72 Academy Japan Insight Week) that fits seamlessly into your summer break. After successful completion, we’re open to discussing a flexible, long-term internship during your graduating year, allowing you to balance university life with your first step towards a career at Point72.

If you’re studying abroad but plan to return home to build your career, we highly encourage starting with the Point72 Academy, a path to pursuing a full-time role in our Tokyo office later on. You can begin with the eight-week internship or apply directly for the 10-month program:

Point72 Academy Japan Insight Week

A comprehensive immersion into the life of a buy-side investment professional, featuring training sessions on valuation, stock analysis, idea generation, and compliance, along with networking opportunities with our analysts and portfolio managers.

Applications open March through May and the event is one week in August/September.

Investment Analyst Summer Internship

A deep dive into finance, research, and market insights, preparing students for a potential role in the full-time Academy program.

Applications open in March and the program runs eight weeks from June to August.

Investment Analyst Full-Time Program

A paid, intensive training program for recent graduates and early-career professionals, offering structured rotations and mentorship to build long-term careers in investing.

Applications are open year-round for three 10-month cohorts per year.
